How should headings be structured on a page?

A page should have one H1 that states its main topic, with H2s for the main sections and H3-H6 for sub-sections, without skipping levels. A clear outline helps readers scan, screen-reader users navigate and search engines understand the page. This checker lists the page's H1-H6 outline.

How to check a page's heading structure
