Serves over HTTPS

Enter a domain to request its http:// address and see whether the server redirects to HTTPS and which URL the visitor finally reaches.

Why should HTTP redirect to HTTPS?

If http:// addresses are not redirected, visitors who type the domain or follow old links can land on an unencrypted page. A permanent (301) redirect from HTTP to HTTPS sends everyone to the secure version and consolidates search rankings on one URL.

How to check an HTTPS redirect

  1. Enter the domain in the box above.
  2. Click Check HTTPS.
  3. Confirm the http:// version redirects to https://, ideally with a single 301.
  4. If it does not, add the redirect in your server, hosting panel or CDN settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

A certificate makes HTTPS possible, but anyone who types the address or follows an old http:// link still lands on the insecure version unless the server redirects them. Browsers then show "Not secure".

301 (permanent). It tells browsers and search engines that the HTTPS address is the real one, so rankings move to it and browsers remember the switch.

Most hosting panels have a "Force HTTPS" switch. Otherwise use the .htaccess Generator for Apache/LiteSpeed or the Nginx Redirect Generator for Nginx.
