SPF record is valid

Enter a domain to read its SPF record and check it for errors that make email fail or land in spam.

What is an SPF record?

An SPF (Sender Policy Framework) record is a TXT record starting with v=spf1 that lists the servers allowed to send email for a domain. Receiving mail servers check it, and mail from unlisted servers is more likely to be rejected or marked as spam. A domain must have only one SPF record.

How to check a domain's SPF record

  1. Enter the domain you send email from in the box above.
  2. Click Check SPF.
  3. Confirm exactly one v=spf1 record exists and includes every service that sends your mail (for example include:_spf.google.com).
  4. End it with ~all or -all, and keep it under the 10 DNS-lookup limit.

Related checks

Keep your SPF record under 10 DNS lookups and remove services you no longer send mail through. JustChecker alerts you if the record changes, so a careless edit does not send your invoices to spam.

Frequently Asked Questions

One record that includes both, for example: v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com include:servers.mcsv.net ~all. Every service that sends as your domain must be listed in the same record.

SPF may trigger at most 10 DNS lookups. Each include counts, and nested includes add up. Over the limit the record fails, so remove services you no longer use.

~all (soft fail) marks unlisted senders as suspicious; -all (hard fail) tells receivers to reject them. Use ~all while setting up, and -all once you are sure every sender is listed.
