Enter a website to test it from JustChecker's servers. You get an UP or DOWN verdict with the HTTP status, response time, redirects and final URL.

What is a website status checker?

A website status checker requests a site from an independent server and reports whether it responds, which HTTP status code it returns and how long the response takes. Because the check does not run from your own network, it tells you whether a site is down for everyone or only unreachable from your connection.

How to check if a website is down

  1. Enter the domain, for example example.com, in the box above - https:// is not needed.
  2. Click Check Status.
  3. Read the status code: 2xx means the site is up, 4xx means the page is missing or the request was refused, and 5xx means the server itself failed.
  4. Look at the response time - a site that takes several seconds to answer is struggling even when it is technically up.
  5. If the site is up here but will not load for you, the problem is local: clear your DNS cache, disable any VPN, or try another network.

Related checks

  • If the site answers with a 301 or 302, follow where it leads with the Redirect Checker.
  • To confirm the domain resolves to the server you expect, use IP Address Lookup.
  • A browser security warning while the site is up usually points to the certificate - check it with the SSL Certificate Checker.

A website showing "Up" here responded successfully when we checked it just now - if a site still won't load for you specifically, the problem is more likely on your side (a local network issue, DNS cache, an ISP-level block, or browser cache) rather than the website itself. A "Down" result means the site failed to respond or returned an error when we tried - this is a real, checked-just-now result, not a cached or historical one. JustChecker monitors your websites around the clock and alerts you the instant something goes down.

Frequently Asked Questions

The problem is on your side: clear your browser cache and DNS cache, turn off any VPN or ad blocker, or try mobile data. Your network or ISP may be blocking or caching an old address.

An overloaded or crashed server, an expired domain or SSL certificate, a broken update, or DNS pointing to the wrong place. The error code and the SSL and domain expiry checkers usually narrow it down quickly.

Yes - JustChecker monitoring checks your site around the clock and emails you the moment it stops responding, so you can act before customers notice.
